Chapter:
Travel Log
We keep on introducing Macy to solid food, but she has VERY LITTLE intrest in food, she is a bottle baby all the way. This is usually what happens when we do try!
Only last night while we were eating dinner she opened her mouth...we hurried and opened up a bottle of Pears and she ate it! She has to do things on her own time! :) Slowly but surely she is making progress!
The kids finished up their swim lessons with Mrs. Jennifer. She was amazing. The kids are so confident in the water, and they can SWIM. Something I thought would never happen.
Way to go Kaids and Maggs!

We spent the first few days of July at home in Arizona. The 4th of July weekend was a bust for us. It was 116 degrees here and too hot to be outside, so we really didn't celebrate. We sure did miss Utah and all the fun traditions the 4th of July holds.
July 5th I loaded the kids in the Pilot and we headed to Utah, just the 4 of us, to spend the rest of July with my family. Jake has been working really hard on studying for the GMAT and we felt like it would be most helpful for him if we were gone and he could focus. So off we went. We made it in 11 hours! It was a bit crazy driving with 3 kids by myself, but we did it. Kaiden was in charge of Macy and did a great job and was SOOO helpful. I couldn't have made the trip with out his help!
We did lots of fun things, most of all we relaxed and was able to catch up with everyone!
Here are some of the highlights

and lots and lots more fun! Everyday was AMAZING!
We headed back home after our 3 weeks was up. We hit some rain, and that is when my windshield wiper decided to fly off! It was a bit intense for a minute. I was in between cities...actually I was in Toquerville, Utah, I was able to slowly but safely make it to St. George to have a new wiper put on. Kinda scary when you are driving in bad conditions by yourself with 3 kids. :) Just grateful we made it home safe!
We got home on Wednesday night, it took us 12 hours with our little window wiper problem. We were so excited to see Daddy!
I spent the next 2 days cleaning, shopping, cooking and getting Kaiden ready to start school, because on Friday, July 29th (just two days later) at 6 AM I had ankle surgery. I injured my ankle my senior year of high school while traveling in Russia. It has been getting worse and worse each year. I am having a hard time exercising and running, and after having a 3rd baby it is essential to be active, so surgery was the answer.
Here is a video of the giggles I got right before I had my surgery. Kinda funny!
This is what I looked like for 5 days after...cruches only, and ice and elevation!
Yesterday I was able to have my splint/cast removed and was put into a walking boot
I still have to be on my cruches for another 2 weeks but I can start to put some weight on my walking boot over the next two weeks. It's been a bit difficult. Jake has been busy with work and with the GMAT studies, so I have had to do most of everything. I am glad I was prepared for it though, or else I would really be struggling. Kaiden carries Macy everywhere for me. It's hard to do things with one leg and no arms! :) We are surviving though. It is only making us stronger. I am hopeful for a quick recovery and am thankful that I am in a walking boot now, I feel like I am able to do a lot more and the pain is minimal. I get my stitches out in two weeks and can't wait for the next phase...hopefully to run without pain!! :)
